What is ENERGY STAR®If you want to save money on your heating and cooling bills—and ensure your home is as comfortable as it can be—then you will surely be interested in windows and doors that are ENERGY STAR® qualified. The ENERGY STAR label can be affixed only to windows and doors that meet specific U-value and shading coefficient ratings for one or more regions of the U.S. These ratings are achieved through independent testing done to NFRC* standards. Practically all Gorell vinyl windows and doors that incorporate any of Gorell's numerous low-emissivity (Low-E) high-performance insulating glass systems meet ENERGY STAR requirements and therefore are ENERGY STAR labeled. Gorell has been an ENERGY STAR manufacturing partner since 1999. The company was named the only national ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in the “windows and doors” category for 2004 and 2005, in large part due to the high percentage of ENERGY STAR qualified products it manufactures. Learn more about the ENERGY STAR program at www.energystar.gov * National Fenestration Ratings Council, a federal program created to establish standardized testing procedures and ratings of window and door products. |

WHOLE-WINDOW U-VALUES AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY
You can determine how energy efficient windows are by comparing "Whole-Window" U-values used by the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC) to qualify windows for the ENERGY STAR® label. The lower the U-value rating, the more your new windows will save you energy. Learn more about the NFRC at www.nfrc.org. ![]()
